Acetyl coenzyme A synthetase (ACS, EC 6.2.1.3) catalyzes the formation of acetyl coenzyme A with free fatty acids and coenzyme A. The ACS provided by our company is gene recombinant protein. It is of high purity and good activity.

    Biochemical studies: Free fatty acids (NEFA) in serum are seldom. Most of the free fatty acids binds with albumin. NEFA is directly related to oxidative stress, which can lead to the occurrence of diabetes by damaging of pancreatic islet cells and reducing peripheral tissue’s sensitivity to insulin. High concentration of free fatty acid can lead to diabetes, severe liver disease, hyperthyroidism and other diseases, such as insulin resistance type /II diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular disease.

Enzymatic detection of free fatty acids is h rapid and simple. And at the same time it has the advantages of high sensitivity and easy automation, etc. ACS is the first enzyme of free fatty acid enzyme detection kit, so it plays a very important role in this kit .
